Trying Out ROVECTIN’s Bestsellers in Just One Starter Kit – THE YESSTYLIST – Asian Fashion Blog

Estimated Reading Time: 3 minutes

Right off the bat, I fell in love with ROVECTIN’s beautiful packaging, but what really impressed me was that the vegan brand has been featured in media outlets such as Elle, Allure, Bazaar and Marie Claire. Beauty influencers are constantly raving about ROVECTIN’s “less is more” approach, so I had high hopes when I came across the brand’s starter kit.

The starter kit contains four of ROVECTIN’s bestselling products from the well-known Skin Essential and Cica Care lines: the Skin Essentials Conditioning Cleanser, Skin Essentials Activating Treatment Lotion, Cica Care Balm and Skin Essentials Aqua Soothing UV Protector.

I appreciate the idea of brands offering skin care kits and mini versions of products to prevent wasting a whole unfinished bottle if it doesn’t work out. But after trying out ROVECTIN’s starter kit, I might end up repurchasing all the products! Read on to see whether ROVECTIN has me sold with its bestsellers.

What it claims: The mildly acidic cleanser washes away daily grime without stripping away moisture from the skin barrier, thanks to water-retaining ingredients like glycerin. It has a subtle scent of coconut from natural coconut oil.

My take: ROVECTIN’s Skin Essential Conditioning Cleanser felt gentle and rinsed cleanly without leaving my skin feeling uncomfortably tight or dry. The lightweight gel foamed up nicely with tiny bubbles – though not to the point that will satisfy foam lovers. Unfortunately, it wasn’t strong enough to get rid of my eye makeup, especially mascara. I needed to use an oil cleanser first to really get rid of all that dirt! After rinsing it off my face, my skin felt refreshed and supple. To my delight, its light coconut scent was undetectable.

After weeks of incorporating the cleanser in my daytime and nighttime routine, I find that I prefer using it as a morning facial cleanser on a makeup-free face, as its cleaning ability isn’t strong enough to remove my eye makeup. I can see the super gentle formula suiting a wide range of skin types, so if you’re looking for an everyday cleanser, give this a try. Remember to also include an oil cleanser to really achieve that squeaky clean face!

What it claims: It combines toner and essence to hydrate skin and create a more supple appearance. It strengthens skin’s moisture barrier with hydrating Barrier Repair Complex™ and seven different types of hyaluronic acid. It also features the antioxidant niacinamide to improve uneven skin tone, fine lines and wrinkles, while ingredients like caffeine de-puff and smooth skin. In addition, papaya fruit extract, a natural exfoliator, helps with absorption of nutrients.

My take: Once I’m done double cleansing at night, I reach for ROVECTIN’s Skin Essential Activating Treatment Lotion. Its texture reminds me of COSRX’s Snail Mucin Essence which falls between watery and viscous.

The slippery lotion glided on seamlessly but as I gently patted it on my face, it started to feel a bit tacky. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea, especially for people leaning towards oily skin. Luckily, my combination skin was thirsty for that hydrating essence! This treatment lotion didn’t absorb as quickly as typical toners, so I gave it extra time to sit on my skin in order to maximize its effects. The results? My skin loved it! I was really impressed by how velvety smooth and supple my skin felt the next morning.

It’s my first time trying out a skin care product infused with caffeine, which is supposed to de-puff the face and reduce facial lines. It might take a while to see those effects, but so far the Activating Treatment Lotion is a sure-buy for delivering a boost of hydration in the summer. This toner and essence in one is more than enough to keep your skin happily drenched!

What it claims: The soothing and revitalizing balm gently heals and hydrates the skin’s deepest layers while reducing the appearance of spots and scars. It’s formulated with a blend of Barrier Repair Complex, calamine and highly concentrated madecassoside to soothe inflamed skin, deliver hydration and strengthen the skin’s moisture barrier. It targets sensitive, irritated and damaged skin suffering from common conditions like hormonal breakouts, rosacea and skin aging.

My take: I only apply the Cica Care Balm if I have breakouts or feel the need to lighten dark spots. The mini tube of waxy, balmy formula goes a long way. There’s no need to apply on the entire face, just on areas with visible acne scars or dark spots.

I applied the balm as the final step in my nighttime routine because it has a great overnight effect. It calmed my hormonal acne and did a fine job in reducing the blemishes on my skin. Ingredients like centella asiatica, glycerin and synthetic beeswax soothe skin while providing skin the moisture it needs. Another plus is that it works great under makeup!

What it claims: The gentle and multifunctional sunscreen protects skin from UV rays with physical UV filters including zinc oxide and titanium oxide. Its hydrating formula also helps brighten skin while improving the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.

My take: Applying sunscreen is a crucial step in any skin care routine. It surprises me that some people still have the misconception of only needing to apply sunscreen when they’re doing outdoor activities like going to the beach or hiking. The truth is we’re in contact with UV rays wherever we go, and that’s the root cause of skin aging! I advise layering two layers of sunscreen for extra protection under the sun.

I’ve been searching for the right physical sunscreen for a while, and I’ve finally found it! It’s not easy to find a sunscreen with both SPF 50+ and a comfortable texture, but ROVECTIN’s Skin Essential Aqua Soothing UV Protector offers the perfect balance. Some of my previous sunscreens caused breakouts because they were too heavy for my skin, but this one didn’t clog my pores at all. The silky texture blended perfectly on my skin even with makeup on. I’d give it a perfect ten out of ten if it didn’t include a blend of lavender oil.

Final Thoughts

Which products work best for day and night?

Skin Essentials Conditioning Cleanser and Skin Essentials Aqua Soothing UV Protector -> Morning

Skin Essentials Activating Treatment Lotion and Cica Care Balm -> Night

ROVECTIN deserves all the compliments! These products are really worth adding to your skin care routine. I enjoyed the process of using them as much as the benefits they delivered. I’m satisfied with all four products, but the Activating Treatment Lotion and Aqua Soothing UV Protector truly won my heart! What more can I ask for when the Treatment Lotion has all my favorite ingredients in it? Like an elixir for my parched skin, it relieved my skin’s thirst and left it looking plump. Also, thanks to the kit, I’ve finally found a physical sunscreen with SPF 50+ that I can use this scorching summer. I’m also interested in trying out ROVECTIN’s Lotus Water Cream (another bestseller) after I finish this batch!
